Met a guy at a house party in Balham about 20 years ago. Randomly got talking about DnB and our favourite tracks and I remember saying that I didn't think Mutant Revisited could ever be topped... I can recognize DJ Trace from a mile away. His breaks, bass, synths, arrangement of components is done in such remarkable way that I can instantly recognize Trace. Life Could drum sample is his trademark alongside that wicked Reesy bass that makes my woofer shoot photons. Amongst trillion Amen break samples one can recognize wich one was manipulated by Trace and that, in my humble opinion, is such a macabre and unique possibility to differentiate yourself amongst millions of producers.
